Bost, Johnson to leave Mississippi State
Excerpt from USA Today:
Mississippi State's two leading returning scorers declared for the NBA Draft before Sunday's deadline. But they're not hiring agents, which could clear a quick path back to Humphrey Coliseum.
Dee Bost told The Clarion-Ledger on Monday that he and small forward Ravern Johnson had submitted their paperwork to the NBA. They have until May 8 to withdraw from consideration for the draft, which will take place June 24.
In between, the players can work out for teams, be critiqued and receive a projection about where they'll be picked.
Bost said he wants to use the opportunity to learn about "my weaknesses and stuff."
Asked if he expected to be at Mississippi State next season, he said this: "Yeah. It all depends on how it goes."
Much like Bost, Johnson spoke of a process geared much more toward learning about himself than anything else.
"I put my name in just to test the waters, go to a couple of workouts, see how things are," he said.
Isaiah Peterson, his former coach at Coahoma County High, said he expects to see Johnson back at Mississippi State next year.
