Kevin Anderson Declares for NBA Draft

Excerpt from The Collegian:

University of Richmond junior Kevin Anderson declared for the 2010 NBA Draft on Monday, but will not hire an agent. By not hiring an agent, Anderson can withdraw his name by May 8 and still be eligible to play next year for the Spiders.

Anderson, a 6-foot point guard from Atlanta, Ga., averaged 17.8 points and 37 minutes per game last year. He was the Atlantic 10 Player of the Year and an Associated Press Honorable Mention All-American.

“I love the University of Richmond and am extremely excited about what we can accomplish next year as a team,” Anderson said in a statement. “Obviously playing in the NBA has always been a goal of mine. I have declared for the draft to get access to all the resources available for a college player, putting myself in the best position to represent the University of Richmond in the NBA.”
