Herb Pope Withdraws Name

Excerpt from The Star-Ledger:

Even though he is still hospitalized, Herb Pope provided some good news for his Seton Hall team.

He will be returning to school next season instead of heading to the NBA.

Through a Seton Hall athletics spokesman this afternoon, Pope has pulled his name out of the NBA early-entry draft pool and will stay with the Pirates next season. This news comes two days after it was reported that teammates Jeff Robinson and Jeremy Hazell would also pull their names out of the draft waters.

Their decision was also confirmed by the school.

After a team workout last Thursday at Seton Hall's rec center, Pope collapsed and had to be rushed to a hospital. He has since been under care at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. Furthers details of his condition have not been released by the university of Pope's relatives.
