Player Biography: Jorge Gutierrez is an interesting prospect who could develop into a draftable prospect by the end of his senior season. Gutierrez has improved as player since sophomore year, and he continues to increase his production as his junior season goes on, as evidenced by the increase in his scoring average to 20.75 over his last eight games. At this point, he is more of a combo guard, but he does a nice job creating for his teammates. Gutierrez also can get into the paint off the dribble, where he uses shot fakes to create space to get off his shot. Because he is not overly athletic by NBA standards, that part of his game may not translate as well though. Defensively, Gutierrez is very good, showing good effort and intelligence as a defender.
