Player Biography: Melsahn Basabe has been one of the Big Ten's best surprises this season, making him an interesting player to watch develop over the next few years. At this point, Basabe is a power forward. He has good athleticism, which who uses well finishing in the paint, rebounding, and blocking shots. Like most freshmen, he needs to improve his consistency. Basabe will also likely need to develop a stronger perimeter game in order to transition to small forward at the next level due to his height.
