Draft Profile: Marquette SG Darius Johnson-Odom
![]() | Darius Johnson-Odom #1 College: Marquette Class: Junior NBA Position: Shooting Guard Height: 6'2" Weight: 215 lbs Birthday: 9/28/1989 |
Player Biography: The one thing holding Darius Johnson-Odom back is his size. If Johnson-Odom were a legit 6-5, there would be no questions about his NBA potential. As he stands, at 6-2, he is simply another combo guard by many. Despite this, Johnson-Odom is still a draftable prospect due to this well-rounded game. Offensively, he has shown to be a very good outside shooter, hitting on 47.4% of his threes as a sophomore. He also can create off of the dribble and has improved his scoring inside the arc as a junior. I think defense is really the key to Johnson-Odom's draft future. He is a very effective defender, using his athleticism well. While most combo guards are clearly unable to defend shooting guards, Johnson-Odom has a better chance than most due to his strength.
