Draft Profile: Michigan PG Darius Morris

Darius Morris #4
College: Michigan
Class: Sophomore
NBA Position: Point Guard
Height: 6'4"
Weight: 190 lbs
Birthday: 1/3/1991

Player Biography: After a quiet freshman season, Darius Morris has blossomed into one of the Big Ten's point guards as a sophomore. His stat-line is impressive (15.2PPG, 6.8APG, 4.0RPG on 49.4% shooting), but his game may be even better. As Michigan's lone ball-handler, Morris is responsible for creating most of his team's offensive, and he does that job nicely, leading the all major conference points guards in assist rate. I am also impressed by the poise he shows as point guard; he uses his size and strength to get where he needs to on the floor, allowing him to create for himself and his teammates. Morris also puts forth a good effort defensively. Morris' size should also help at the next level, allowing him to play alongside undersized shooting guards. Though he isn't overly quick and his jumper needs to improve, Darius Morris is beginning to look more and more like a potential first round pick.
