Draft Profile: Providence SG Marshon Brooks
![]() | Marshon Brooks #2 College: Providence Class: Senior NBA Position: Shooting Guard Height: 6'5" Weight: 200 lbs Birthday: 1/26/1989 |
Player Biography: Based purely on statistical output, Marshon Brooks has been one of college basketball's most productive players, averaging an impressive 25 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 1.3 blocks, and 1.6 steals per game. He also made headlines for scoring 52 points against Notre Dame. Physically, Brooks has nice size and enough athleticism to play in the NBA. Brooks is also a very efficient for someone who scores at such a high rate, especially in isolation situations. The big question is, how will Brooks adjust to playing as a non-primary scoring option? He will not have the same level of freedom as he does in Providence's offensive, which will force him to develop other aspects of his offensive game, especially as a perimeter shooter. It is also difficult to project Brooks' defensively since Providence plays a lot of zone defense. That being said, Brooks looks like a early second round prospect, though he has the potential to move into the back end of the first.
