Draft Profile: USC SF DeMar DeRozan
![]() | DeMar DeRozan #10 College: USC Class: Freshman NBA Position: Small Forward Height: 6'7" Weight: 211 lbs Birthday: 8/7/1987 |
Player Biography: DeMar DeRozan was one of the top basketball recruits (#3 Rivals, #6 Scout) in the 2008 high school class. DeRozan averaged 29.2 points, 7.9 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 3.0 steals as a senior at Compton High School. The 2007-2008 McDonald's All American signed with USC over other schools, including Washington, California, Arizona State, and UCLA. Entering his freshman year, DeRozan was expected to fill the void left by one-and-done OJ Mayo. It seemed he would be unable to live up to the lofty expectations, averaging nearly 12 points on over 50% from the field, early in the season. Down the stretch, however, DeRozan stepped up and helped USC win the Pac-10 tournament and an NCAA tournament bid, exhibiting his all-around athleticism and potential.
