Player Biography: Chase Budinger attended La Costa Canyon High School in Carlsbad, California, where he starred in both basketball and volleyball. In 2006, Budinger was named a first-team Parade All-American and played in the McDonald's High School All-American game. As an elite recruit (Rivals #4; Scout #13), he committed to Arizona over over in-state schools UCLA and USC. Budinger, averaging 15.6 points and 5.8 rebounds, was the 2006-07 Pac-10 Freshman of the Year. For his sophomore season, Budinger upped his scoring output to 17.1 points per game, earning himself a spot on the AP All-American team as an honorable mention. Though considered a first round lock, Budinger chose to return to school for his junior year.
