Player Biography: A highly rated power forward (#3 PF Scout, #4 PF Rivals), Hansbrough attended Poplar Bluff High School where he led the team to back-to-back state titles. With offers from Duke, Florida, and Kansas on the table, Hansbrough decided to play college basketball for UNC. Hansbrough exploded on the national scene, receiving first-team All-America honors as a freshman, the only ACC freshman to do so. As a sophomore, Hansbrough averaged 18.4 ppg and 7.9 rpg for UNC and was a consensus first-team All-America selection. Hansbrough failed to disappoint in his junior campaign at North Carolina, winning the National Player of the Year award with averages of 22.6 ppg and 10.2 rpg. In his senior year, Tyler Hansbrough has already broke North Carolina’s record for career points, set by Phil Ford in 1978. Hansbrough was selected First Team All-ACC this year.
