Nick Calathes #33
College: Florida
Class: Sophomore
NBA Position: Point Guard
Height: 6'5"
Weight: 185 lbs
Birthday: 2/7/1989
Player Biography: Nick Calathes was a top 15 recruit (#14 Rivals; #10 Scout) out of Lake Howell High School in Winter Park, Florida. Calathes chose to sign with Florida over other schools including Wake Forest, Miami (FL), Georgia Tech, and Florida State. In his freshman season, Calathes earned SEC Newcomer of the Year and SEC co-Freshman of the Year honors, averaging over 15 points per game. Calathes played even better as a sophomore for the Gators, earning 2009 First Team All-SEC honors. Calathes had a successful all-around game in college, averaging 5.3 rebounds with 6.4 assists as a sophomore. Whether he can carry that output into the NBA is a question surrounding him. He has great court awareness and passing ability. His size is also something that could be beneficial for a team looking for a taller point guard.
