Player Biography: James Harden attended Artesia High School in Lakewood, California, where he won back-to-back state championships and was honored as a McDonald's All-American. A highly-ranked prospect (Rivals #11, Scout #19), Harden committed to Arizona State over UCLA and Arizona. As a freshman, he would not disappoint, earning an All-Pac-10 First Team nomination while averaging 17.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.2 assists. Entering his sophomore year, Harden was recognized as a pre-season All-American. He lived up to the expectations, and with averages over 21 points, 4 assists, and 5 rebounds, Harden was named the Pac-10 Player of the Year.
