Draft Profile: Colorado SG Alec Burks
![]() | Alec Burks #10 College: Colorado Class: Sophomore NBA Position: Shooting Guard Height: 6'6" Weight: 185 lbs Birthday: 7/20/1991 |
Player Biography: An unheralded recruit out of Grandview, Missouri, Alec Burks received only two high major conference offers from Kansas State and Colorado. Over the last two seasons, Burks has developed into the best pure shooting guard prospect in college basketball. Physically, Burks has legitimate size for the position, though he is still a bit skinny, and he is a smooth athlete. He is a very good scorer able to attack the rim, allowing him to get to the free throw line, where he excels. Burks isn't a great three point shooter at this point, but he has potential to develop that aspect of his game since he has a nice release. He also has the tools to be a good defender, though he is, like many young players, inconsistent defensively. At this point in his development, Burks looks like a mid-first round prospect who could move up draft boards through workouts.
