Arkansas' Fortson to Test Draft Waters

Arkansas guard Courtney Fortson has declared for the NBA Draft.

Fortson has not hired an agent and has until May 8 to return to school. The athletic department announced the decision Sunday afternoon and said Fortson is still enrolled in school.

Playing overseas could also be an option for Fortson, who was named as a second-team All-SEC player after missing the first 14 games because of suspension. Fortson averaged 17.9 points per game with 5.9 assists and 5.4 rebounds as the Razorbacks finished 14-16.

"Courtney is an extremely gifted basketball player," Coach John Pelphrey said. "He certainly has the talent to play the game of basketball at the highest levels and we support him in his decision to explore that option."
