Ed Davis to Leave UNC
Excerpt from the Richmond Times-Dispatch:
Ed Davis accomplished all that he wanted to at North Carolina and now will move on to the NBA.
Davis, a 6-10 sophomore forward and former Benedictine star, will enter the NBA's June draft and forgo his two remaining seasons in college. He hasn't yet hired an agent but will with the help of UNC coach Roy Williams, eliminating any chance of a return.
"I've had two great years at North Carolina, both as a player and a student, and now I want to pursue my lifelong dream of playing in the NBA," Davis said in a statement released yesterday by UNC.
"I will continue to work on my degree, something I have promised my parents I would do," Davis said. Right now, I want to finish the school year in good shape academically and get ready for the next step in my basketball career."
