Silas Withdraws Name, Will Return to NIU

Xavier Silas announced Thursday he is withdrawing his name from the upcoming NBA Draft and will return to Northern Illinois for his senior season.

“I had a great opportunity to work on my game and get some valuable feedback from family and friends the past few weeks,” Silas said. “It was a great experience and I’m glad I did it. I always had the feeling that I would return to NIU for my senior season, and I’m excited about it. We’ve got a lot to prove next season, and it’s important for all of us to continue to have a great offseason and improve on a daily basis.”

Underclassmen who declare for the NBA Draft and do not hire agents have until May 8 to withdraw and maintain college eligibility.
