Terrico White to Hire Agent

Excerpt from the Jackson Clarion Ledger

It’s official: Ole Miss guard Terrico White has decided he will hire an agent and stay in the NBA Draft, dealing another body blow to the Rebel basketball program.

White, a 6-foot-5 sophomore who averaged 15.1 points and 4.6 rebounds per game last season, had two years of eligibility remaining. But the decision is not a huge surprise: White has been on the radar of NBA scouts for more than a year.

"My family and I have decided that it is best for me to stay in the upcoming draft," White said in a statement released by the school. "This was a very tough decision to make. I would like to thank all of the coaching staff for giving me the chance to play at Ole Miss and for everything they have done for me over the past two years."

White is the third starter to leave the Rebels, who finished 24-11 last season and advanced to the NIT semifinals before losing to Dayton at Madison Square Garden.

Guard Eniel Polynice decided to pursue professional opportunities while forward Murphy Holloway left to transfer to a school closer to his home in Irmo, S.C., so he could take care of his 6-month-old daughter.
