Thompson and Hamilton Won't Declare for NBA Draft?

Excerpt from the Dallas Morning News:

Texas teammates and potential first-round picks Tristan Thompson and Jordan Hamilton each said Saturday that they would return to Austin instead of declaring for the NBA draft.

Thompson, a 6-8 freshman whose stock has soared late in the season, had finished answering several questions about how a possible NBA lockout might impact his future when the subject was raised.

“I’m coming back for another year,” Thompson said. “I’ve already signed up for summer classes, so I got to be going to school there.”

Hamilton said he had promised his parents, Greg and Karen Hamilton, that he would get his degree at Texas. And he’s intrigued by the possibility of contending for a national championship next season if everybody returns.

“I think coming back for next year, that we’ll be a great team,” Hamilton said. “I made up my mind. They want me to finish school. I want to get an education for my mom. I’m back next year.”
